The Central Crossing Wrestling Team set a school record by placing 3rd as a team in the District Tournament and qualifying 4 wrestlers to the State Tournament.
Joshua Wimer, James Wimer, Jackson Lakso and Robbie Fusner qualified to the State Tournament by placing in the top 4.
Senior Joshua Wimer in the 128 pound division led the wasy by pinning the #3 ranked wrestler in the state to win the District Championship. This win was Joshua's 150th win of his career.
Sophomore Robbie Fusner also had a great tournament, placing 2nd in the 195 pound division.
Sophomore James Wimer, who was competing in the 115 pound division, finished in 3rd place.
Jackson Lakso, who was competing in the 108 pound division, finished in 4th place.
Sophomore Ethan Leaply, in the 140 pound division, just missed qualifing by placing 6th.
Sophomore Kameron Teacher, in the heavy weight division, went 2-2 coming up one match short of placing.
Senior Gavin McKenney qualified for the District Tournament but was unable to compete due to an injury.
The State Tournament is this Thursday, Friday and Saturday February 27, 28 and March 1 at the Schottenstein Center.
